From the Heart of Chile

Abbastanza Icon Reserva

Origin

Every year we select the best grapes from our oldest vineyards to prepare our Icon wine, Abbastanza. Vintage 2014 was created by blending Cabernet Sauvignon (98%) and Carmenere (2%) originating from the Highlands of Maipo Valley, where some of Chile’s best vineyards are located.

Vintage Conditions

Spring and summer were very dry with rainfall
below average. The summer temperatures varied
greatly from warm days to cool nights which
allowed the grapes to ripe slowly and steadily in
order to maintain natural acidity and develop
complex flavours.

Winemaking

All of the grapes were handpicked during the first week of May. Following low pressure crushing and maceration, fermentation took place in small stainless steel tanks. Once fermented the wine was aged in French oak barrels for 18 months.

Serving Suggestions
